Sean Dettman, Director, was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois and studied History and Literature at the University of Wisconsin (B.A.). He is in the final stages of publishing his doctoral thesis entitled ‘America and the Blitz’ at the School of Advanced Studies’ Institute of Historical Research, University of London were he worked with Professor Miles Taylor and Dr Roland Quinault.

In 2010, Sean was awarded the Marshall-Baruch Fellowship at the George C. Marshall Foundation on the campus of the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia. Sean also received short-term fellowships at the Hoover Institution on War, Revolution and Peace as guest researcher to Professor Peter Stansky of Stanford University and the Newberry Library in Chicago, Illinois. In 2012, Sean was awarded a postgraduate research grant to present his thesis at the Historian of the Twentieth Century US (HOTCUS) annual conference at the Roosevelt Study Centre in Middelburg, The Netherlands.

In 2007, he received a Master of Arts in Literature from University of Westminster. He currently lives in Jersey with his wife, Natasha, an artist, and their two children.
